A Poem
Today I reached out my hand and told myself it was for you A kindness for your comfort - the only thing I had to give in the moment You a stranger in need Me, a stranger INDEED Today I reached out my hand and told myself it was for you, Anxious and scared and alone I held yours tight like I’d known you all my life Who does that? What NERVE. I spent the rest of the flight Wondering, searching then remembering “This is who you really are, before they told you who to be”. Today I reached out my hand and told myself it was for you. I’d never have guessed it was just as much for me, too.
